  • Advocate with Promise the Children : a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit that “advocate for the funding of public and private programs that support US children and their families who earn low wages.”

  • Become a mentor with Friends of the Children Boston : a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit that is part of a national effort to places supportive mentors with children that face tough challenges and poverty.

  • Volunteer with Cradles to Crayons Boston : a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit that is “driven by a focused and all important goal: to make life better for children in need.”

  • See how Unicef works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.

  • Advocate with CARE, an organization that works around the globe to save lives, defeat poverty and achieve social justice.

  • Take action with The Children's Defense Fund, which champions policies and programs that lift children out of poverty; protect them from abuse and neglect; and ensure their access to health care, quality education and a moral and spiritual foundation.

  • ABCD Boston is a member of the federal Community Action Network, which helps with a variety of needs for economically disadvantaged people in the Boston Area.

  • Tech Goes Home provides basic technology education as physical technology (free internet for 12 months, Chromebooks) to disadvantaged families and individuals in the Boston Area.

Support these regional organizations

  • Join the United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley on their '“Moving Families Out of Poverty” initiative. Together the United Way helps fund and guide several local organizations in helping families escape poverty.

  • Give more opportunities to women and children by donating or volunteering with Project Hope Boston a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit “at the forefront of efforts in Boston to move families up and out of poverty.” Project Hope provides low-income women with children access to education, jobs, housing, and emergency services; fosters their personal transformation; and work for broader systems change.
